Lot Details & Additional Photographs

VIN: 1B9RT11H0S3133357 Mileage: 196 miles

The first model built in collaboration with Harley Davidson, the 1995 Buell S2 Thunderbolt. A series of 300 bikes was targeted and frame numbers (starting with 1B9...) were assigned and stamped accordingly, starting in January of 1994. These first run production bikes were special in that they were hand-built in every way. The artisan-quality tube frames were TIG welded by by one person: race car fabricator Jim Schneider. They were powder-coated white, an exclusive to Ducati at this point. The fairings and tank cover were made of hand-laid fiberglass, and the chain cover and air cleaner cover were made from carbon fiber. The second production run of bikes with the 4MZ frame numbers were MIG welded. 1,399 S2s were built in 1995-96.

With a Harley Davidson 1203cc Evolution V-Twin engine producing 76 horsepower, and 76 ft-lbs of torque. It is equipped with an aftermarket Vance and Hines exhaust pipe. These are a blast in the curves due to its short wheel base of 55 inches, along with the low end torque available. A five speed transmission, and a Kevlar belt final drive. It has disc brakes with six piston calipers in the front and dual piston calipers in the rear. It features white fascia Buell gauges to include a speedometer and tachometer. This bike is finished in Snap Red paint, one of five colors available. It still wears the original tires dated '94.
