Oil on canvas, signed lower right, inscribed and dated 1991 by the artist on the paper backing, presented in a white gold tone frame with linen liner.

Stretcher size 18 x 24 in.; Frame dimensions 27 1/2 x 33 1/2 in.

William Anthony Slaughter was born in San Antonio, Texas. After serving in the US Air Force during World War II, he was ordained a Lutheran pastor, serving congregations in Texas and Mexico City.

In 1971, Slaughter retired from the ministry and devoted himself to painting. Primarily self-taught, his Texas landscapes filled with bluebonnets, live oaks, blooming cacti and rambling streams are highly sought after.

Very good estate condition.
