Late 19th or early 20th century, hand painted in polychrome enamels with gilt highlights over a small crackle ivory ground with elegant ladies and children dressed in patterned kimonos, decorative spiral pattern to rim of cover and bowl, floral and textile patterns to sides, raised on a short foot, signed to underside, with gilt bamboo finial to cover.

Some old paper labels remain to the underside; a very minor nick to interior rim of box.
