Contemporary figurative sculptor, Steve Glassborow, prefers clay as his sculpting media and finishes his pieces in bronze with complex color patinas. His ideas bend perceptions of realism, looking for ideas that sections views on reality. His focus is to pixilate or dissipate the figure through the processes of making, destroying and then rebuilding.
Based in Sydney, Australia, Steve has had numerous exhibitions and completed many large scale public commissions, including Lionel Rose for Warragul City Council, Johnny Famachon for Frankston City Council, numerous companies and collections throughout Australia and Asia including Hilton Hotels; Qantas; KPMG; Crown Casino; Park Grand; Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur; and many others.
