Madeleine Heidrick was born in Illinois and lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was best known as an abstract painter and draftsman, with work included in the permanent collection at The North Carolina Museum of Art. She is listed in the Johnson Collection's Directory of Southern Women Artists, and is also listed in the North Carolina Visual Arts and Artists Collection, begun by Wilmington artist and former head of the University Art Department Claude Howell.
