Daniel Seagle's family were early settlers in Lincoln County, North Carolina, arriving from Pennsylvania in the late eighteenth-century. Daniel Seagle originally made both lead-glazed earthenware and alkaline-glazed stoneware, although very few of his earthenware pieces have survived.

Area of 1 in. where glaze is lifting; bullet hole beneath one handle, not noticeable; approx. 7 in. tight hairline from mid-section to base where it branches; 5 in. tight hairline from rim downwards.
