Jean Wigglesworth Watson attended the Philadelphia College of Art, and later studied under Roy Nuse at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and with Frank Schoonover of the Wilmington Academy of Art. Her artwork resides in private collections as well as many public buildings such as the Hotel duPont and the University of Delaware. In 1940, Jean completed two murals as projects of the WPA, Early Summer in North Carolina for the Madison, NC post office and A Massachusetts Countryside for the Stoughton, MA post office.
