Jeanne Bessette was born in Massachusetts and grew up in Rhode Island. She attended the Rhode Island School of Photography, owning and running a successful photography studio for thirteen years before devoting herself full time to painting.

She paints almost every day in her studio in Raleigh, North Carolina and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally.
