First half 20th century, carved and polychrome painted wood, the group comprised of (2) older folks in rockers, (2) girls, a man with a bale, a young man with a melon, a man wearing an overcoat (missing feet) and woman wearing a red dress (loss of paint ), not signed.

Tallest 5 1/2 in.

Brown was educated at Pleasant Hill Academy, a school with an excellent program in wood carving, and under the guidance of Margaret Campbell, Brown advanced his natural talent creating refined yet naturalistic works. Brown went on to study at The Art Institute of Chicago.

Losses to paint on the red dress; loss of feet to man in an overcoat; all others good.
