Attributed to Philadelphia school, circa 1780, shaped crest rail with notched ear, tapered back splat with molded shoe, slip seat, molded flush seat rail, molded square leg with inside chamfer, flush stretcher base, down-swept rear legs.

Note the rear stile with through mortise tenon at seat rail.

Later upholstery; wear at legs, feet and stretcher; one chair with later brace blocks; tight shrinkage split to back splat of one chair.
