19th century, light wood and dark wood bone and mother of pearl inlays throughout with white metal highlights, oak and mixed woods secondary, one part form, rectangular hinged top lid opening to reveal an inlaid underside and velvet top surface, the upper case with a central pull-out deep drawer with secret hidden compartment to rear side surrounded by (17) configured drawers and a hinged door compartment to the left and right side, top of lid and underside with central inlaid calligraphy, base molding with pull-out desk slide with repeating inlays, now attached and supported to a contemporary brass stand.
