Stretcher size 30 x 25 in.; Frame dimensions 40 x 35 1/2 in.

This is a copy of the portrait of Queen Charlotte painted by Benjamin West, which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1777. The original portrait depicted the Queen seated at a table with Charlotte, Princess Royal. The painting was engraved by Valentine Green and published by John Boydell in 1778, and enjoyed a wide circulation.
