Mid-19th century, pierced and gilt oval form pedestal bowl centerpiece, obverse and reverse with transferred portraits of George and Martha, the column featuring hand-painted monogram, within a gilt sunburst and a pennant with motto "Decus et Tutamen Ab Illo" (Glory and Defense are from him).

11 x 15 5/8 x 10 7/8 in.

Crack and repair to bowl underside; some glue to stabilize column to bowl; loss to upper pedestal; chip and associated later gilt to upper rim; scattered rubbing to gilt and transferred images.
