Born to a French father and American mother in Corsica in 1920, Charles Levier attended the École Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs at the age of seventeen. He served for the French Army in World War II, later becoming a Liason Officer with the U.S., Office of Strategic Services.

After the war, he divided his time between the U.S. and France. He spent many years exhibiting in galleries across both countries, namely in New York, Los Angeles, and Paris. Today, his works are housed in the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Menton Museum in Paris, the Atlanta Museum, the Seattle Museum, the Evansville Museum, the New Orleans Museum, and the San Diego Museum.
