Tinka was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and currently resides in Hillsborough, North Carolina since 1988. Tinka received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977 after attending The Cleveland Institute of Art and The Kansas City Art Institute. Tinka Jordy is currently the vice chair of the Orange County Arts Commission Advisory Board. She describes her figurative clay works as "full of surface cracks, fissures and imperfections that express the earth, the passing of time, our mortality, and the search for spirituality. I work on them until they look back at me."

Some chips to base rim; pierced area to obverse upper skirt and right elbow appear original to the firing; overall good estate condition.
