Likely English, the first in burl veneers, early 19th century, with linear border inlays and inlaid escutcheon, hinged lid opens to a later marbled papered interior (4 3/4 x 11 3/4 x 7 5/8 in.); the second mid to late 19th century, mixed wood veneers, with floral and parquetry border inlays, inlaid mother of pearl escutcheon, opens to a blue papered interior with lift off tray ( 4 1/4 x 10 7/8 x 7 5/8 in.).

Some veneer shrinkage cracks; some areas of wear to paper lining; burl wood box with some veneer losses at corners.
