The first: cotton, early 20th century, white background featuring rows of repeating "Carolina Lily" motifs in green and red printed fabric, with dark pink binding, white backing, using both piecing and applique techniques (7 ft. x 6 ft. 3 in.) (areas of staining, fraying, wear consistent with age, otherwise in beautiful bright estate condition);
the second: cotton, circa 1880-1910, attributed North Carolina, handmade quilt in solids and calico prints, featuring repeating pieced "Lone Star" or "Star of Bethlehem" blocks in various brown, orange, blue, and white combinations of patterned and solid fabrics, on blue background and separated by green calico sashing, beige backing, brown binding (6 ft. 10 in. x 5 ft. 4 in) (discoloration to backing, binding extremely worn and frayed, some fraying, loss, and staining to quilted motifs, some overall fading.)
