The first a hand-sewn antique "crazy" quilt comprised of pieced silk fabric of assorted colors and patterns, adorned with multicolor embroidered decorative stitching as well as figural embroidered and appliqued motifs, with wide dark yellow-brown velvet border and mustard-colored sateen backing (6 ft. 6 in. x 6 ft. 1 in.) (staining to back, areas of discoloration and loss to some fabrics on front, areas of fraying and loss to some stitching, otherwise good estate condition);
the second a hand-sewn "crazy" quilt of pieced silk of assorted colors, prints, and textures, decorated with multicolor embroidery in fancy stitches as well as embroidered figural motifs, including American flag to center, butterflies, spider on web, etc., border of alternating angled rectangular pieces, black binding, pieced backing of patterned silk, dated "October 1884" in embroidered stitching to quilt front (4 ft. 10 in. x 4 ft. 10 in.) (significant loss and tearing to back, back with old repair, loss and fraying to some fabrics on front, some staining and fading.)
