Virginia-based artist Allan Dudley Jones studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the University of Pennsylvania (BFA). Allan was a professor at William and Mary, University of Virginia, and Virginia Wesleyan College. His artworks are included in various private collections, as well as the Virginia Museum of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Chrysler Museum of Norfolk, and High Museum of Atlanta. Commissioned paintings are in the collections of the Peninsula Hellenic Center, Newport News Public Library, and Newport News City Hall. His diorama of the Monitor and the Merrimac hangs in the Mariners’ Museum of Newport News, Virginia.
