Late 18th century hollow-cut laid paper, mounted to 19th century backings, depicting the English literary figure Jane Porter (1775-1850) and the historical Revolutionary figure Marquis de Lafayette (1757-1834), both with similar identifying ink inscriptions to lower margin, presented behind glass within matching antique faux bois frames.

Toning to sheet; Lafayette is laid down on backing, while Porter is hinge mounted; Porter with crease and tear to upper third; some wear to both backings, and frames.
