Late 19th century, high grade burl and book-matched veneers, applied pierced brass upper gallery, green leather writing surface on the hinged lid opening to reveal six small drawers, the slant front writing top with rare mechanism allowing the top to slide forward to create a knee-hole desk and finished rear work area, the right side of desk with small pen and ink drawer above four graduated drawers, ebonized molding, flush molded base on casters, finished on all sides.
