Circa 1800, figuring Eros forging love’s arrows at his anvil, with round white enamel dial signed “Chatenay a Versailles,” with Roman chapters and Breguet hands, set within a tree stump that holds forging file, tongs, and hammers, the eight-day silk suspension movement numbered S8 11, lozenge sarcophagus form plinth with relief scene of two putti at a beehive, flanked by torche and quiver mounts. Includes pendulum, key, custom later acrylic display cloche, and text by Elke Niehüser, French Bronze Clocks: 1700-1830.
