.58 caliber, 33 in. blued round barrel with two-leaf rear sight; the breach is stamped with 1863 / eagle head, U / V/ P, H.S.L., STEEL; the polished walnut stock fitted with a tulip head ramrod; brass mounts include two barrel bands, the nose cap, the trigger guard, patch box and US-marked butt plate; the casehardened lock is stamped U.S. ahead of an eagle over REMINGTON'S / ILION N.Y.

Working action; retains original finishes; a few bumps to wood do not substantially detract from the enormous visual appeal of this likely unused weapon. Very Good to Fine condition.
