A gift to the consignor's great aunt from Russian born friend Georgina Klokatcheff Childs and her husband, Lynchburg native James Rives Childs (1893-1897). Childs was a diplomat, humanitarian and author, he received the Medal of Freedom in 1946 and was an ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Ethiopa, and wrote the textbook American Foreign Service (1948).

Scattered bleed and tarnish to silver, with some denting; tempera with some drying crackle; verso retaining remnants of backing paper.
