Robert Broderson graduated from Duke University in 1950. He taught for at Duke and North Carolina State University for several years during the 1960s, before leaving teaching to devote himself fully to painting. His work may be found at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, as well as the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.

Some overall toning and significant area at lower right corner, crease to upper right corner, fraying to right edge.
