José Bardasano Baos was born in Madrid in 1910 and trained as an artist with Marceliano Santa María, who enrolled Bardasano in drawing at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid. Bardasano studied artistic stained-glass techniques at the Casa Maumejean. He took part in the National Fine Arts Exhibitions of 1930-1936.

After the Spanish Civil War, the artist settled in Mexico and began giving free drawing lessons, which later became the School of Painting he later opened at his home. He became acquainted with other Mexican and Spanish artists in 1945 in the Circle of Fine Arts, and through his collaboration with the Mexican government's literacy campaigns. He returned to Spain in 1960 and rejoined the Spanish art scene in Madrid. His work has been exhibited in the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga, the Museo del Prado in Madrid, Spain.
