Likely Peru, Chancay region, (1100-1400 CE), the first a fragment of plain-weave cloth with painted figurative motifs including a monkey, mounted on white board, in black frame with glass (frayed edges to fragment, pin-holes in backing board, backing board separating from mat, scuffs to mat) (framed dimensions 17 in. x 21 in. x 1.5 in.); the second a fragment of painted plain-weave cloth with an allover zig-zag motif incorporating avian motifs, includes a seam, mounted on white stretched canvas in black frame with no glass (frayed edges to fragment, hole, wear to frame, frame too shallow for canvas) (framed dimensions 36 in. x 28 in.)
