Peru, Chancay region, pre-1500 CE, the first with two cloth fragments mounted together on mat-board in black frame, the fragments featuring intricate woven patterns with geometric, avian, and wave motifs (fragments with frayed edges, one mounted on burlap, with holes and loss, in black frame) (framed dimensions 21 x 28 in.); the second a fragment of woven fabric with allover reciprocal diamond motif in red thread, with stripe border and fringe of narrow woven strips, mounted on black board with white mat in black frame (fragment is faded, discolored, with frayed edges) (framed dimensions 17 x 21 in.).
