(original canvas has been cut and laid down on later canvas and stretcher; numerous repaired tears and some loss to canvas; extensive retouch visible under UV light; fair condition); the second is oil on canvas, depicting a raucous tavern scene with soldiers and a young woman, indistinct signature at lower left, unframed (Stretcher size 18 x 22 in.) (darkened varnish with heavy craquerlure; surface grime; paint loss to edges of canvas, small punctures with associated paint loss in lower right corner).
