An article in the St. Petersburg Independent (May 19, 1972), mentions a showing of Burriss' watercolors and describes the artist as "a new resident of the area...Burris is described as a realist who has studied and shown in Chicago as well as has shows in Detroit, San Antonio and elsewhere." The article also notes that he sold 25 watercolors to the Ford Motor Company and 66 works to The Old Club in Detroit.

Both with light overall toning, some wear at edges, and pinholes at perimeter from prior hinge mounting.
