American, 19th century, cotton and wool, the first a double weave summer & winter design in natural cotton and navy wool, the centerfield with repeating crosshatch motif within a stepped octagon, separated by four-point stars, border to three sides, bottom edge with knotted fringe, top edge hemmed, center seam, unsigned (discoloration especially to light side, staining, many areas of loss, old patches to bottom edge, edges with later reinforcement stitching) (6 ft. 3 in. x 7 ft. 1 in.); The second all wool in a reversible design, double weave, centerfield with grids and squares alternating with multiple outlines that repeat into the border on three sides, bottom edge with fringe, center seam, unsigned (discoloration and staining, holes, wear and loss to fringe, separation at seam, fraying edges) (5 ft. 4 in. x 6 ft. 3 in.).
