Attributed to Batavia, circa 1680-1720, two part form, deal secondary, rectangular dovetailed case with applied relief carvings throughout featuring flowers, urns and bird motifs, the case with ten various sized drawers, set on a conforming stand with single drawer on bold spiral twist inverted baluster legs.

60 x 39 x 25 in.

This type of furniture is associated with the workshops of Batavia (present-day Jakarta) which became the centre of the Dutch East India Company's trading network in Asia and European-style furniture was made for the Dutch elite in the region.

Later pulls; some pulls detached; seperation cracks to boards of case; some loose/reset drawer stile fronts; one leg return later; several returns with losses.
