Charles Henry Schwanfelder was an artist from Leeds, England who was known for his animal portraits, landscapes, and hunt scenes. He was the appointed animal painter to King George III and King George IV, and exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1809 and 1814.

Painting has been lined, light age cracking, some retouching to lower margin visible under UV light inspection, and some minor scattered flaking in the lower margin.
