19th century, a Dutch delft example painted with landscape vignettes, pewter lid engraved "GW" (8 3/4 in.) and a German stoneware stein with top indentation, the gray clay decorated with a large blue trotting horse, pewter lid engraved "TH" (8 1/4 in.).
