Turkey or Iran, wool, late 19th - 20th c.; the first with stripes of red and blue with bands of hooked scorpion motifs with central octagrams, and thin bands of recriprocal S motifs, the back with sections of green and red and orange stripes, with white top and bottom, applied woven and braided edging (wear, large patched hole, some smaller repairs, fraying to braided band) (27.5 x 45 in.); the second with red and blue stripes separating soumak bands of scorpion and elibilende motifs between minor borders of twisted ribbon motif, and soumak bands of reciprocal sawtooth motifs, the back with red, blue, and white stripes and band of raised X motifs, with white top and bottom edges, applied woven and braided strap to one side (discoloration, several large repairs, wear and loss, holes) (24.5 x 37.5 in.); the third with horizontal stripes of red, blue, white, and zig zag, same on both sides, with woven and braided straps applied to sides (stains, discoloration, holes, fraying and separation of side straps) (26 x 42 in.).
