Marlowe was born in Florida and studied graphic design and illustration at Ohio University. He spent several years working in New York City where he earned commissions for The New York Times, Sports Illustrated and Newsweek. He was also a sought after illustrator for children's books. Now living in Wilmington, North Carolina, Marlowe has gained attention for his unique multi-media works paying homage to pulp art from the 1930s and 1940s.
