Larry Gray studied at the University of Georgia and Yale University before becoming a professor at Humboldt State University in California. His work is featured in the permanent collections of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Chicago Art Institute, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art, among others.

Gray uses oil on canvas and pigment powder on paper to create atmospheric paintings conveying time, light, and space. His work reflects a profound reverence for the natural world, especially the southern highlands where he has made his home for the last 26 years.

Good estate condition. One area of errant grime to surface of canvas.
