France, late 19th century, after Louis Simon Boizot (1743-1809), King Louis XVI with insignia of the Order of the Golden Fleece and the Order of the Saint Espirit, Marie Antoinette with her hair arranged with a ribbon and a tiara with fleur-de-lis; each raised on a separate porcelain socle in the form of a truncated column with cobalt ground and gilt decoration, including laurel crown with royal monogram, attached with nut and bolt; Sèvres-style mark incised to socle interiors.

King Louis XVI 10 1/2 in.; Marie Antoinette 11 3/4 in.

Both slightly loose on socle; occasional minor marks and scratches; socles with small chips along the top, socle of Marie Antoinette bust with small chip at bottom edge; small areas of separation on heads, Louis XVI with a small repair by his right ear.
