During this time he honed his artistic skills drawing and painting pin-ups to boost troop morale, in addition to documenting war scenes and figures. Upon returning to the US, he finally settled in Virginia, fully committing himself to the Fine Arts. His realistic paintings are powerful in their technique and details.
