Charles William Hudson studied at the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts under Emil Grundman, Edmund C Tarbell, and Frank W Benson. At age seventeen he became an illustrator for publications. He was a member of the Boston Art Club and the New York Water Color Club. He exhibited at the Boston Art Club, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum, New York, among others.
