Oil on paper, titled at lower center, pencil inscribed "W.W. Lyon" to verso of sheet, matted and framed under glass.

Sheet 18 3/4 x 28 5/8 in. Frame dimensions 25 1/2 x 35 1/2 in.

The S/S Alabama was a Norwegian cargo ship commanded by D. Blacklaw. The ship sank in 1916, five miles North of the Kentish Knock Lightvessel while on passage from Le Havre to Newcastle.

Overall toning and soiling to paper, some scratches and creasing with associated losses, hinge mounted at upper edge, several tears with tape repair visible en verso, wear to edges of sheet, previously folded; toning to mat, general wear to frame.
