Stretcher size 39 1/2 x 50 1/2 in. Frame dimensions 44 x 55 in.

Sweden-born artist Inger Jirby spent her early 20s studying privately under Luis Orozco in Mykonos, Greece. Two years later, she relocated to Paris and studied at the L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Before spending two years in Venice, exhibiting at Bevil Aqua La Masa. She traveled in the years that followed to Greece, Jamaica, and the West Indies before settling in New York City for 10 years.

She currently resides Taos, New Mexico, where she continues to paint. Her works have been exhibited at the New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Fe, New Mexico; The Albuquerque Museum, Albuquerque, New Mexico; The National Museum of Women in The Arts, Washington, DC; and others.
