Collection of a Gentleman

Tag accompanying young boy and woman indicates that the works came from an estate in Bath, Maine with ties to the shipping industry.

Carl Siegfried Wiltschek was a well known portrait artist and art dealer working in New York in the early 20th century. Portraits by Wiltschek of James B. Duke and Benjamin Newton Duke hang in Lilly Library at Duke University.

Paintings appear in good estate condition, not examined out of the case; some rubbing and marks to brass; rectangular glass with some chipping to upper right.

LLA works in partnership with ARTA to fulfill shipments of most of the items we sell; ivory is not included. Alternative shipping vendors are available. Please contact our front office for a courtesy listing of local options.
