The Waldensians (or Waldenses) is a religious movement that formed in the 12th century. Starting in France, the movement spread quickly to other countries, including Germany. This book likely briefly predates the movement becoming more closely associated with Protestantism during the Reformation.

Sturdy and attractive boards with toned spine, foxing, stain on back cover; rear paste-down endpaper with area of tears, small losses, and residue; interior with light toning, light scattered foxing, and light grime on several pages, with leaves overall clean and crisp; some signs of wormholes at hinges; several leaves extended with repair at bottom right corner of B3 and B4 impacting text on B3v only, protected in modern boards and endpapers. Extremely rare.
