First quarter 19th century, watercolor on ivory, unsigned, the first of a lady in blue dress with jeweled pendant and white lace (frame 5 1/8 x 4 1/4 in., painting 2 7/8 x 2 3/8 in.); the second of a gentleman attired in black coat and white stock, depicted on a blue sky background with suggestions of clouds (frame 6 x 4 1/2 in., painting 2 1/2 x 2 in.). Both presented behind glass in ebonized frames.

Background behind female sitter with later overpaint mostly to left side (likely in oil); female portrait frame with loss to upper mount with associated crackle and paint loss.
