French Renaissance Verde Green Marble Inlaid and Carved Walnut Cabinet

16th century and later, oak and pine secondary, paneled top with shaped and molded edge, three upper side-by-side drawers with relief carved masks over three hinged arched paneled doors (the center door is hinged with lock and once opened allows a slide lock to release the flanking doors), shelved interior, the center panel depicting Eros and Psyche in a pastoral scene, flanked by scenes of Leda and the Swan, and Diana with her hunting hound, all carved in the manner of Jean Goujon, the side panels flanked by fluted columns, all featuring inlaid green marble panels and triple line border, the case sides with upper raised panel over a fretwork carved panel, front turned feet, rear straight feet from the stile.

A good diminutive form in usable condition.

With restoration including refinished surface, drawer secondary woods rebuilt and or refinished, later escutcheon to central door (no key), later front turned feet; old insect damage throughout (but stable); small area of marble loss to central drawer at right edge; some molding chips and losses at the base.
