Watercolor on ivory, unsigned, reportedly the blue-eyed sitter is "Captain Willens," wearing blue officer's coat with stand up collar, lined in white with gilt buttons featuring anchor motif, black stock neckwear against a blue sky ground, presented behind glass in a gold plated oval locket with bail and jump ring.

Locket 3 1/2 x 2 3/8 in.; 2 5/8 x 2 in.
