The concept of a triple grind is one not often seen. Sometimes swords will feature a narrow groove down the center of the blade, but evenly spaced "columns" on knives are not common. The Kathathu combines Chris Reeve Knives' tried and tested one-piece concept with a triple grind.
The Kathathu is a limited edition collectible. During 2000, 50 9-inch Kathathus were ground by Scott Cook and in early 2001, he ground 66 of the 5 1/2 inch version.
To complete the collection, 100 each in 7 1/2 inch and 4-inch blade lengths, were ground by Chris Reeve.
