Manuel de Faria y Sousa (1590-1649) was a Portuguese writer and historian who spent most of his life in Spain. He wrote this book about Chinese history and culture using the notes of Alvaro Semedo who worked as a Jesuit missionary in China.

Sturdy boards with light edgewear and scuffing/dents, joints mildly creased with one small wormhole, lower board slightly bent, sticker residue at head; cracking at hinges, bookplate and sticker at front paste-down, free endpaper with small tear; pages lightly toned with occasional very light grime, one wormhole moving through most leaves, otherwise pages extremely clean and crisp; a very good copy.
