Sperone Speroni (Padua, 1500-1588) was a professor, writer, humanist, and philosopher. He is best known for his dialogues on various topics such as love, birth, family, language, and rhetoric.

Boards with light overall wear and discoloration, minor staining to boards, several bands cut at joints, manuscript title slightly faded, lacking ties; nearly complete separation from textblock starting at head, lacking paste-downs and front endpaper with tears; pages lightly toned with foxing concentrated at margins and fore-edge, occasional wormholes/trails throughout, damp staining common at corners in first book with larger damp stains at outer margin on several leaves of second book; occasional light grime, small stain, or minor loss not impacting text, *3v with stamp.
